Who We Are
The Children's Health Initiative of Orange County is a public and private partnership founded in 2004. Our healthcare leaders, partners, and donors are working together on a mission to implement, support and coordinate county-wide programs for health insurance enrollment and retention for all uninsured children in Orange County.
Who are the Uninsured?
- Eight out of ten people without health coverage are from working families
- Most uninsured workers are employed in low-wage jobs that either do not offer benefits or the health benefits offered require premiums too high to afford with a modest salary
Mission and Vision
We are improving children's lives and building a better community for the future. The mission of Children's Health Initiative of Orange County is to match all uninsured children with affordable and quality health care. Our vision is based on a simple philosophy: A child's good health is the foundation for a lifetime of opportunity and success.

We are part of a statewide organization "The California Children's Health Initiatives" comprised of 30 Children's Health Initiative coalitions that have been created throughout California since 2001.
