Community Health Initiative of Santa Ana
Our Community Health Initiative of Santa Ana (CHI SA) was created to assist specific at-risk populations in central Santa Ana in conjunction with Santa Ana Building a Healthy Community (SABHC). This initiative is funded by The California Endowment (TCE). CHI of Santa Ana takes a targeted approach to increase access to quality preventive health care and social services programs for central Santa Ana residents. With continued support, this program will greatly impact and improve the overall health of the community.
In Central Santa Ana:
- 77.1% have less than a high school education
- 23.5% live below the poverty line
- Adults in Central Santa Ana are more likely to be uninsured (32%) than in California overall (22%).
- 30% of adults in Central Santa Ana are obese compared to 16% in Orange County and 21% in California.
