Enrollment Through the Schools
There are two ways to help our school children obtain health insurance. The first is for individuals and organizations to adopt a school. The second is to help us start a 100% School Campaign.
Adopt a School
Individuals and organizations looking for charitable opportunities can adopt a child, a grade, or a school in Orange County. By adopting a school, you will be making Orange County a stronger and healthier community by helping children access medical care. To learn how, please call us at (714) 246-8737.
100% School Campaign
Did you know?
- 62,000 Orange County kids are uninsured
- Orange County Schools lose $100 million annually due to school absenteeism
- One in four uninsured children uses the emergency room as a regular source of medical care
- Every dollar now spent on immunizations saves $10-$14 by preventing future diseases in children
- One in every three children in kindergarten and third grade has untreated dental decay–and those without insurance exhibit an even higher rate of decay
- The Surgeon General’s report in 2000 stated that 51 million hours of school are missed each year because of tooth decay, primarily due to lack of access to dental care
- Orange County loses $20 to $25 million each year from state and federal sources because thousands of children who are eligible for Medi-Cal or Healthy Families are not enrolled in these programs.
