Enroll Your Family

Do I qualify?

To find out which program you qualify for, check the program eligibility chart and follow these steps:

  1. Find your family size.
  2. Find your annual income in the corresponding row.
  3. Find the box where the two intersect.
  4. Follow the corresponding column down to determine which program you qualify for.
Family Size 138% Poverty Level
1 20,121
2 27,214
2 Adults 27,214
3 34,307

5 48,494
6 55,587
7 62,680
8 69,773

For example: If you have a family size of 2 (including yourself and a child) and you make $21,000 per year, then you would qualify for Medi-Cal for adults and your child would qualify for Medi-Cal for kids.

If your family income is less than 266% of the Federal Poverty Level, based on the chart, your child/children will qualify for Medi-Cal regardless of immigration status. For adults to qualify for Medi-Cal, their collective family income needs to be less than 138% of the Federal Poverty Level.

If your family collectively earns over 266% of the Federal Poverty Level, and are citizens or U.S. residents, your family will qualify for Covered CA subsidies.

If your income is more than 600% of the Federal Poverty Level, based on the chart, you can still apply for Covered CA. However, you will not qualify for subsidies.
